Default Trading in 2010 GT for 2011 GT?

Hey guys, I was wondering how many people made the switch from 2010 to 2011 if any. I have a 2010 GT with just a roush cat-back (which i love) but am thinking about trading in on the 2011 GT. I test drove one last week and I loved it. I was wondering if anyone made the switch and could offer some advice, i.e. was it worth it, is there a big difference?

Thanks,
Eric

I have a ten gt wi a roush blower on it and the ten with a blower has like 20 hp more than the stock 11. The difference performance wise between the 10 stock and h blown ten is night and day. Yeah the difference is huge.

Why not wait for the kinks to be fixed? Instead of the severe beating you will take on trade!

Well i took mine to the dealer the day i test drove and got a quote on it and I would be able to get out of it about even. So with the new 0% financing for 36 months ive really got to thinking... and my other thought was to put a blower on the 2010 but with the 2011 i would get things i missed having with the 2010 like the electronics package ( beating myself up over ) and the Brembo brake package =]

Exactly! FWIW, I actually went out and bought a 2010 as soon as I heard the 2011's were coming out. Why? The dealers were eager and willing to get them off the lots to make room for the 2011's (nobody wants the POS 2010 with 100 less HP! ) and the incentives were great.

People are making too big of a deal out of the new engine. Yeah, it's hot...yeah, it's got more HP....and yeah, it'll shave a second off your 1/4 mile and a half a second 0-60...but BFD! There's ALWAYS going to be a car that's faster or something better coming out around the corner.

The 2010 is a great car and the 4.6 has evolved to the point that all the bugs are worked out and it's a reliable engine. The 5.0 will be too...but I'll never buy a 1st year new release engine again. Let the others do the beta testing and enjoy having the fastest/best GT for now...you can trade it in a couple of years when the Boss comes out...or the 2015 anniversary Mustang with "improved" 5.0 and new styling

I have a 2010 GT and wish I could upgrade to an 2011 GT. I have a few reasons for wanting the 11. Namely I could get the color I really wanted, the 5.0, the Bremo brakes, the better suspension, electric sterring, blind spot mirrors, and header exhaust, to name a few.

But I would lose too much in a trade. Some say wait for the Boss or 2014 models, etc. Although in theory that sounds good, I would be afraid that by then Ford would have redesigned the Mustang again and made it worst. Truth be known, I like the front end of the 2005-2009 much better than the 2010-11. The rear end I am netural on. But I would guess by 2014 Ford will make a radical change to the front making it look worst in my opionion. Bottom line, if money was no object, I would order a 2011 in a heartbeat.

All the changes I am doing to my 2010 I'd have to do to a 2011 and the difference in cost pays for all those changes and more. I just don't need the extra hp and I might even have a plan for that too.

I ordered an '11, but it's been held by Ford since 4/5. I will hopefully be picking up a loaded C/S within a day or two. I thought about putting a blower on my '10, but the '11 adds bigger brakes, even on the base car, a 6th gear, and I'll be getting more stuff than I originally had.
Just my .02.

this thought has entered my mind alot as well! i want a 5.0! but the fact of being upside down in the situation is just not worth it. 2nd the first year of remodding drivetrains always makes me think, so wait till 2012 for the bugs to be worked out.. 3rd on a personal note, the 05-09 body is waaaaay better looking imo!!!!!!!!!
