The 1000 adds about 60 lbs between the amps and the speaker. Then I have seats with air bags. The passemger seat weighs around 60 lbs. Crazy.

I want to lighten my car up considerably without compromising comfort (i.e., A/C, seat delete, etc). So far I've lightened it up with aluminum driveshaft, rear lower control arms, spare tire and jack removal, CAI replacement, and about to install U/D pullies.

Have considered removing the 1000, but I dunno. Might replace the seats with Corbeau first...

Major focus on this build has been weight loss and weight relocation. Shed 300+ lbs already with plans for another 300 lbs. You can take a lot of liberties when car is no longer streeted.

That's why I mentioned we focused a lot on weight loss, even though the way we did it would not appeal to you...it can be a worthy goal. Some use the rule of thumb of 100 lbs for 1/10 second. So are you willing to take 100 lbs of comfort and utility out of your vehicle for every 1/10 of a second faster ET?

No brainer for my car. It just lives 1/4 mile at a time. But for a nice daily driver, to be enjoyed with passengers and such...????????

For DD I have my car fully loaded and ready to go. The safety aspect of the air bags in the seats is not something I will skimp on.

On track days I take out the passenger seat, shaker1000 speakers, back seat (14 lbs) and empty any other clutter out of the car. Overall it removes a little over 100 lbs.

I also unhook the front sway and let it hang. You would be suprised how much extra travel the front has when the front sway is unhooked.

If I wanted to shave a little more I would get the radiator support replaced (taking out the front sway bar), new K member, different driver seat. But in the end it's juts not worth it to me. I like the way car handles with the sway bar hooked up and I like my driver seat. My car is raced but it is not a race car. It will probably get a cage with swing outs but that won't affect the drivability very much.

Even with removing 100 lbs, the butt-o-meter can feel it.

Ya, my seats have the air bags in them too. When I go to the track I pull the pass. seat, rear seat bottom, spare tire and jack and anything else I can get out of there.
