Default Bad throttle response and idle

Can I get a little Help?
I have a 2005 Gt with no mods...
automatic trans...
I have started to get a poor throttle response off Idle where as I start to press on the gas pedal and I dont accelerate and continue to press then the motor surges
I read the article on fixing the Drive by wire box attached to the gas pedal...and I didnt want to open it up so I just Bought a new controller from Ford and installed it....
I still have the problem and now the idle rpm has dropped to less than 500 and the motor sounds like it is going to stall.....
so Before I get my Gun and blow a hole in the Motor..... I was wondering if anyone can advise me as to what might be My Problem.
( dont say "Anger management")

thanks
Tsrek

thanks Shanec...can you recomend a brand?....
I forgot to say that I commute with the Car...and it has 120,000 miles on it. so it very well could be a dirty throttle body...do I just open up the air cleaner tube and spray it in while it is running???

also the other Guy recomended Plugs...I still have the original plugs with 120,000 miles on them
should I try the cleaner first?

many thanks...Ill put my Gun back in the closet.....

well you are suppose to change the plugs at 100k actually but you can do the cleaner first as its easy and cheap

After that, try disconnecting the battery for 20-30 minutes to reset the adaptive learning. Then, you still should consider a CAI & tune combo. The tune will help with throttle lag and tranny shifts in addition to the typical RWHP gains.

Ok thanks....
I used spray and it really helped! I gave it little shots and wiped with a clean rag getting my finger way back behind the plates and then started it up...idle jumped up from about 400( and wanting to stall) to about 800-900 and rock steady!!!
simply amazing!!
I know the plugs are way over due....but when I heard they cost about 24.00 each
plus labor I got so pissed off I let them go. now I hear they can be a real "Bitch" to get out...this is the story of my life....when I try to save money it ends up biting me in the a$$ later.
thanks for the Help though...I will give it a full test tomorrow going to work.

Read up on changing the plugs before you attempt changing them. It can be a real PIA. Do it sooner than later. Could be loads of carbon build up in there.

Get those plugs done asap. I waited till 70k miles and 5 out of the 8 broke off in the heads.
