It won't without traction mods to take advantage of the gearing. There is plenty of info, just use the search function.

Sparta, I should have clarified that the technique I mentioned was for stock tires on a daily driver, my mistake. I realize that does not apply to drag tires. I only started racing a couple years ago and I was getting tips on running the 1/4 mile in a mostly stock Mustang with slightlty worn factory tires. I was lighting them up in second gear!

the manuals?

The GT is bone stock......stock 17" pirrelli's and 3.55 RG: The best time I hit was a 13.70 at a 100mph. I left at 2000 rpm feathering it.....anything over that = lots of spin anything under 2000 rpm it would bog.

With Drag Radials or other drag tires, usually around 5 to 5.5 K. I hardly look at the RPMS any more when I launch. I find it easier to start building up RPMs when when the light begins to go down and by the time I launch the peddle is to the floor. I guess I am about 5K. My 60' are in the high 1.7 to mid 1.8 range.

sounds nice....hope to get there myself. I'm in the process of deciding on should I build up the 08 GT or go for 2011 GT? I want to be on the track next spring.

I am starting to look at the 2011s. As a USAA member, I can get an awesome deal. $800 below invoice plus $1500 cash. A base model GT with 3.73 would be just under $27,000 before TTL.

That's a great deal. I've been on the Ford web page building different models....I want the base coup with all the scoops / fr & rr facia from the appearance package, 19" painted rims......The only problem is that I must have the Shaker 1000 radio and that is not offered in the base package. Since I want the Shaker 1000 radio I have to move up to the premium 400 to get this and the price jumps from $33,000 to $36,000 for other stuff I don't need. What happened to the good old days when you could just check the boxes and not have to bother with packages.

Just had my FRPP 4.10's installed yesterday in my 06 GT auto. Haven't exactly launched from a dig yet because I'm still breaking them in (recommended by installer), but the car does feel faster from a 20-30 mph roll. Gets going quickly with little throttle from a stop, too.
Cant wait to really try them out later today :-)

Highly recommended!
