Default bad synchros :( rebuild them or change tranny?

my synchros from 1 to 2, then 2 to 3 are bad.
Is it worth fixing or just buying a used transmission with like 25k miles on it?

Suggestions with past experiences?

I have no warranty so ford cant help. How much would either one cost?
Thanks!

I would try and source a used tranny...should be cheaper than repairing it if you can find one locally. I sold my TR-3650 with about 10k on it for around $750. Or...get a TR-6060 ;-)

The other model tranny he mentioned is a stronger tranny.

We had to replace our tranny on our 06GT. We had to do so in a hurry so we just replaced it with a new stock tranny.
The new ones cost a tad more than a rebuilt tranny (was either 200 or 400 bucks more) BUT if you get a rebuilt one from Ford they ONLY warranty the new parts they replaced. If you spend a LITTLE more on the whole new tranny you will have the ENTIRE tranny warrantied. WELL worth the peace of mind.

Unfortunately we were out of warranty so we were unable to get our new tranny under warranty. That is another reason we opted to get a whole new one. That way the whole thing was covered just in case something went wrong with the new one.

I would recommend an entire new tranny for a bit more than a rebuild, or get a stronger tranny via aftermarket or something.
Odds are though a new STOCK tranny will be fine for you if you are not heavily modding the car with big horsepower numbers.

Bad clutch damage can do it as well as other things. Romping and ripping the gears, other things as I said before as well.
