Default What's a good drop for lowering springs?

I'm looking to get some new wheels on my mustang, along with new springs. It def needs to be lower, I'm just not too sure how much lower. Just wondering if you guys could recommend some springs and/or a good drop amount to shoot for. Thanks!

For good cornering with a decent ride quality, you don't want to go much lower than 1.5" on an S197. They look great lower than that, but ride quality and cornering ability deteriorate quite a bit as the cars go lower.

Our UPR Pro Series springs drop the car 1.5" and they handle well. http://www.uprproducts.com/mustang-e...prings-05.html

FRPP 1" Springs are what I use. Look great, handle great, still keep the car useable.

I had Steeda Sport Springs, Koni STR.T's recommended on this site by Sam Strano on my 07' GT. I loved this combo. Handling was a night and day difference from stock. It lowered the front about an inch and the rear about an inch and a half. Basically leveled the car out and I enjoyed every turn in that car.

No clearance issues.

I'm about to put the Eibach pro-kit on. 1.5" for back and 1" for front. Does anyone know if I need a camber kit as well? I heard different stories. I have a 2011 5.0. Thanks so much!

I put in the Eiback Sportline kit and it was great for the front, but too low in the rear. I raised it back up 1/2". Love it now.

The Pro kit should be great.

You won't NEED the camber kit if you don't mind a little bit of extra negative camber. The added negative camber will actually aid cornering, but will wear the inside of the front tires more than the factory camber setting. If you want to return the camber to the factory spec, you'll need camber plates or cc plates.

Also, if you're running larger rear tires, you might want to pick up an adjustable panhard bar.

Where are you buying your springs? If you don't already have them, you can pick them up at uprproducts.com for $179 with the MF member discount.

Thats an OXYMORON.
Bypass the springs and go with dropped spindles and keep
your OEM front end geometery.

Aftermarket lowering springs are the poor mans lowering tool.
So when the bumpsteer is more than you can bear....
