Default Mustang Novice

So I just purchased my first Mustang, 08 GT.

I'm looking into modding it, but also want it to be reliable, as I will be driving it more than just cruiser, but not quite a DD.

Wondering what would be the best upgrade to do first, as I'm only really looking to hit 400RWHP.

400 to the rear wheel(meaning actual dyno number) or 400 to the crankshaft. If its 400 to the wheels then you will actuall need to create 460 or so horsepower. With that much to go you would need a ton of mods if you didn't go forced induction.

For your goals, you'll definitely want to go with forced induction.

Can someone direct me to the best place to start researching which FI would be best?

Not to sound - snobby - but just for the record, FI is a supercharger or turbo setup. Expect to spend $6000 or more, especially after all the supporting modifications

If you're wanting it as a daily driver, I would recommend the turbocharger.

Check out the Brenspeed website. If you know anyone in Indiana, you can kill 2 birds with one stone. They have guest quarters where you can hang while they do the install.

You can't hit 400 HP reliably with the 4.6L unless you go FI.

Dont think 400 is possible without blower or some other add on.

I know what Forced Induction is, this is my first Mustang, not first sports car.

Thanks, Brenspeed has something that looks right up my alley.

My car is quite modded and it's a daily driver. With FI the tune is everything. Brenspeed is a great company to deal with. Do loads of reading IE research before you buy anything too.
