Just out of curiosity what kind of an exhaust tone are you looking for? Do you prefer a deep rumble or are you after a raspy race like sound. Knowing which sound you are looking for will narrow down some of the combinations. I also wanted to ask if you knew which axle back your car has or what kind it is, chambered or straight through.

I'm looking for that classic muscle car sound. The axlebacks are Flowmaster American Thunders

I recommend taking a look at MAC (my favorite sounding system on the 3v motor). Their long tube and prochamber midpipe make a really nice tone. Very deep at idle and a nice throaty sound while accelerating.

This video is by another MF member. His is with cats though. Its hard to capture how deep they really are on video. You could also run a seach on youtube "Full MAC Exhaust" the top 2 videos are without cats.

How loud? I do like to wake the living dead. I figure I've got about 7 more years till I need to start slowing down, and I'll make sure they're loud enough to hear for decades haha

Ha same here. A catless set-up will be louder. Check out oneunderone on youtube. His vids are catless. I don't think he even goes near WOT and they still get nice and loud. Plus if one day down the line you ever want to get cams it will only get louder.

The setup your looking at will definitaly get you over 300hp. I have cat back Bassani with x-pipe, Airraid CAI and a dyno tune from The Mustang Shop and I am sitting at 304RWHP and 320RWTQ. I was told LT's would add another 10HP or so to my setup.

Young Gun,
We consistently see gains of 35-45 hp when using Kooks headers and x or h-pipe set ups after tuning. Our stuff is not the cheapest but it is however the best performing and best quality product on the market.. I would be happy to talk to you if you wanna call me. 704-768-2288 ext 209 Thanks so much my friend...

Yep i've heard and seen the same, great fit and best performance numbers. Your mufflers will do more for sound than anything, Long tubes and the loudmouths or boomtubes will be plenty loud. You'll probably decide after driving on the highway for an hour that it's too loud.. especially if you want to talk to someone in the car. After my '07 GT i dont want a loud car again.
