Default Tow package

I am considering having a tow package put on my new 2013 GT for an enclosed motorcycle trailer. Does anyone else here tow a boat or motorcycle trailer with their stang? Are there any issues I need to be aware of and how much can I potentially tow?

Towing isn't advisable as far as I remember, but I think it is possible. You should read the owners manual and it will let you know how much you can tow if you are really thinking you want to.

Any enclosed trailer will be too much weight for the mustang to tow safely.

Pretty sure you don't want to tow anything with it. There's a post somewhere on one of the forums where someone did tow a UHAUL or something across a couple of states and said it was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it.

The Owner's Manual for my 2011 GT states that maximum trailer weight is 1,000 lbs and the maximum tongue load is 100 lbs. There are other useful restrictions listed.

Please post images and links for the hitch.

There you have it. You can't tow squat with the Stang except for some groceries.

Here is a single bike trailer that weighs 190 lbs.

This wouldn't work w/ a 911 lb full dress HD Ultra Classic, but a 690 lb HD Fat Boy could be pulled behind the Mustang w/ this trailer w/o violating the specifications.

Towing is fine on them as long as it isn't too much as stated previously. I towed all of my stuff for college when I moved into my apartment at school in a small Uhaul trailer. Seemed ok to me.

I think it recommends not to exceed a speed of like 55-60 mph with a trailer on though. It was definitely under the 1,000 lb restriction though.

I'd hate to laugh at the guy trying to launch a boat with a Mustang, and watch the boat drag the car into the water...
