Seriously considering an 05-10 Mustang GT in the next couple months.

Aside from the obvious things like accident damage etc, is there any specific trouble areas to look at on these cars?

Places that tend to rust, mechanical parts prone to failure, etc.

Specifically looking for 05-10 Mustang GTs with manual transmission.

05-09 look for water damage in the passenger side front floor board. 10-up, not sure there are many issues. I have a 2010 and LOVE it! I think it looks more aggressive than the 05-09's

+1 on the water damage issue

I'd stay away from ex rentals, unknown amount drivers with unknown amount of abuse.

Look for paint bubbling around the rear window of the 05-09's

Ex rental wont be an issue. -- no manual rental cars in my parts

The water issue - whats the cause? A leak somewhere? Is it fixable?

Anything else? Clutch/Trans/engines pretty reliable from what ive ready.

Is there any routine maintenance that SHOULD be done aside from oil changes? Timing belt or chain on the 4.6?
