Default MGW shifter on my '13

UPS dropped off a present and I quickly pulled my car on a lift and started taking my old shifter out. The stock shifter is wimpy as others have described. Everything came out fairly easy. Had the install videos up which helped as to know exactly step by step without guessing. Just looking at the new shifter I can see this gonna be a big step up from stock. Clamped the lower box to shaft, its easy as you can turn the box any way you need to since it is not bolted to the brace yet. MGW has made some upgrades which the videos dont address but it is easy to see, like 2 pc shifter rod bushings, 4 studs on the brace. Bolted up to the side brace, easy. Came inside and had a buddy start the bolts on the upper shifter while I held down the assembly against the spring. The real bitch was the lower boot, after some hot water and 4 hands we got it. Sound mat and stock padding etc back in. Put plastic back on, screwed my new retro white shiftball on and secure the heatshield under the car. Test drive....all I can say is wow! Hands down best mod yet! No mushy feeling, very tight, precise and short throws. Im super happy!!

I struggled with the boot with my Barton install ... I think I invented some new cuss words. After like 45 mins wife came out and did it in 45 seconds, first time. Go figure.

Haha! Yep, you made me laugh on that!! On the MGW the boot opening is like 1.5" and you have to stretch it over approx 3.5"

The worst is when you think you have it on, drive somewhere and then realize you didnt get it on all the way and have to do it over again like i did
