how long do regular sylvania long life bulbs last compared to zXe's?
Im looking at getting the zxe's because I want a more modern and white light but I do not want to get HIDs because I refuse to put HIDs in a reflective housing and I do not want to change my stock housings because they fit in PERFECTLY with the look I want.
So reading about some h13 zXe's and they seem to be cool but I hear they only last like a year...My mustang is a 2006 and it STILL has the stock headlight bulbs... :S
btw does anyone else think the stock bulbs look kinda dim? especially at night time with them on I cant see ANYTHING...lotta times i have to turn my foglights on just to see a few feet in front of me :/ cant wait for these zxes, they are 60 bucks but hope hey will be worth it.
whats weird is i been looking for months and have not seen a single person with zxes in their mustang (online on many forums and irl), so i guess ill pioneer this thing and post a video and etc
today im gonna use mothers headlight restoration to clean up my lenses real good i only use the ball+the cream and buff it, i dont wetsand because from what i have seen and heard from detail experts...if ya gotta wetsand, u might as well just buy new headlight housings lol.
cant wait to get my zxes, hope all the autoshops arent closed today for thanksgiving gonna rock my zxes like they are HIDs...i actually seen a guy with zxes in a 2005 f150, and it looked REALLY nice.

Sylvania Silver Stars are 4000k and the Silverstar Ultra's are 4100k. When I first put Silverstars in my '07 and my wife's '06, the Ultra's weren't available so we both currently have the 4000k bulbs. They're certainly whiter than the stock bulbs and they've been installed since '07 (in my '07) and '10 (in my wife's '06) and haven't had a burnout yet but my Stang isn't my DD. When I had the 4000k bulb in one of our SUV's which also used the headlights as the daytime driving lights, they lasted only about 1 1/2 years. Also, with my old eyes, anything around 5000k and above are useless in dark, wet weather. Good luck with the zxe's. I know nothing about them.

Brighter light always comes with shorter life.
LongLife bulbs are rated at 14Volts and the
filament is sized to produce as much lumens
as a 12Volt rated bulb.
Your stang produces approx. 14.4Volts while
driving. Check the voltage and wattage rating
of the bulb you are replacing and the voltage
of the bulb you are replacing it with.
I had SilverStars and they lasted a mere 1 1/2 years
of very little night driving.
I then went with the zXes and they are still under
evaluation. At $50 a pop, they had better last longer
than the SilverStars...

How many hours a year did you drive with them on (nighttime driving)?
