Default FRPP Hot Rod Cams

I'm looking into buying hot rod cams and I have a seller who has them for sale, however, how would I know if he's giving me the real stuff or just passing me some stock cams?

The hot rod cams have flames painted on the sides.

skip on the hot rod cams, good for sound but many better cams out there for making power.

That may be a true statement, however, Hot Rod cams make decent power and sounds great and they do it all without having to make major adjustments to your heads. Also, you can add another power adder on top of Hot Rod cams easy enough.

True but the Hot Rod cams still produce a ~20rwhp gain and don't require a valve spring upgrade.

When installed, I got 24 rwhp with HotRods on the dyno. They have a Great lopey sound. No springs required, or drivability issues. Ya, You will like them !

For me, they behave just fine...I have a good idle at 850 rpm. Been running mine for about 5 years now.
You will need a tune adjustment with these... just Make sure you get a good tuner who knows his stuff !
