Strut nut spins

Strut nut spins
Just bought a 2012 gt. There is a clunking sound coming from the front end when turning, looks to be the passenger strut. The nut at the top spins freely. It's tightened as far as it will go, but when I put a wrench on it and turn it the whole thing spins pretty easily. I can't tighten it any more at all. The drivers side doesn't do this at all, and is quite tight.
It's hard to tell but it sounds like the clunk is from the passenger side as well. It seems most people end up putting the GT500 strut mounts in, but since the strut is just spinning I'm not sure what that means. Any ideas? I'm taking it to the dealer Thursday, but I like to know what is wrong beforehand so I can call them on their BS if needed...

There's a TSB for the lower control arms. Ford went through several revisions and the current replacement part is the D model with a heat shield. Do you have this clunk when going over speed bumps?
The TSB might be your issue, or the busted nut, or both.
