Default Finally!

Got my Mach. She's a black 2004 automatic with 24k miles on it. Got it for just over $15k. It feels pretty strong, but it is definetly a full second or slower than my previous Mach. It gets off the line much better than I expected, and pulls good up to 80mph or so. I haven't had it any faster than that yet. I hate to bring up the infamous "What are the best first mods" question, but the being an automatic, I have a few issues that the 5spd Mach doesn't have to contend with. One is the low 5800 rpm rev limiter. The other is the low speed governor. Also, the tune on the automatic is supposedly not as aggressive as the 5spd's. I've read from a couple sources that once the automatic Mach is tuned, that it can match the 5spds performance pretty closely. So, with all that said, should I go ahead with a tune first, or go with the basic bolt-ons and gears, and then tune it. I'm not looking to get too wild with it. All I'm looking for is a consistent 13.0, maybe high 12 second car, with more of my concern being with the trap speed. Right now, it'll only trap about 101-102. I want it to trap 109-110. To me the higher trapping cars are more fun and faster off the track.

Contrats on the new ride! I don't have much (or any i guess lol) experience with automatics, but I would guess that upgrading it would make the car as fast or faster than an equivalent stick shift car, just because there would be no human element when shifting.. That being said, if I were you i'd take care of that first so I would be on par with the manual Machs right off that bat, if they are that much better off that is.

Never did tune the red one. I used MILs for the orx, and a Dallas Mustang calibrator for the gears.

+1 Grif, I will not be going down the half-*** route this time. Itworked fine, but I will definetely be saving for a tuner vs calibrators, mils, etc. Especially since its an automatic! Did you bump your rev limit up with yours?

actually thats the surprising part lol, . i havent messed with the rev limiter yet,The reason y is it responded good and because of the sct computer, it puts out what it thinks is the most power u can get out of the motor, but im gonna mess around with it and see whats the best performance i can get out of it myself.
