I hate stealerships!
I swear I have the worst luck lol. I just bought my Mach 1 with 16,000 miles and have had it for about 4 days. The clutch went out last night as I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd and now the car won't go in any gear. I had it towed to the stealership and they are accusing me of hot rodding the car, and won't fix the car even though I JUST bought it. I've been super easy on the car just commuting to and from work. This is the last time I ever buy a used car from a stealership. If your in WA do yourself a favor and never buy a car or have service done at South Tacoma Mazda, I hope that place goes up in flames. I ended up having it towed to the nearby Ford dealership where at least it will be fixed correctly and my money won't be going to the Mazda shop that refuses to fix a car I just bought. Sorry for the rant, just had to vent a bit...

I feel your pain and have been on both sides of the point as I used to work at a Ford dealer. If the car has a powertrain warranty, and the dealer cannot prove that you were severly abusing it, you would win in court if you're willing to go through the trouble. If you want a higher performance clutch while it's being dug into, I have a brand new aftermarket clutch still in the box, just PM me if you're interested.

They gave me a 30 day powertrain warranty, but they are saying that the clutch is not part of the powertrain and is a "wear and tear" part. I'm planning on trying my luck in small claims court. Hopefully I can get a reimbursement for the repairs.

^^ pretty much what everyone else said. Ask to speak to the service manager and used car manager at the same time. and give him an ear full. If they dont listen, talk to the president or the general manager of the company. Tell him your going to call the BBB, and that your going to speak to your lawyer. If you complain enough, they'll end up doing the job, or make you pay half.
