It's not that loud! - I need a friend
Hey guys - my car has been registered/inspected in RI for the past few years and I just recently moved to MA (worst decision ever) and the inspection station on the corner said no because the exhaust is loud. IT SOUNDS LIKE A MUSTANG SHOULD! Car runs like a top, no leaks, no check engine lights, I just need to find someone who appreciates muscle cars and will cut me some slack. Can anybody help out? Help me get this pony back on the road! FYI I'm up in Methuen.

Sorry friend, wish I could help but sadly Mass state law says that you are not allowed to modify your exhaust at all ( that doesn't mean we don't all do).
If its to loud your going to have a hard time getting it inspected unfortunately.

completely missed that haha...if you don't have really dark tint you can take it to a dealership, they dont give hard times, ive been to one with no problem...if that doesn't work and you don't mind driving to woburn, my buddys girlfriends dad has a place where inspections can be done and he wont fail you for that

Good luck. I am in Methuen too and it seems like most of the shops around here want your car to be as whisper-quiet as a Prius. Getting my Eclipse to pass inspection was a major PITA and required both a new catalytic converter AND a resonator!
Check PM, a DSM-owning buddy of mine clued me into a shop that might be able to pass you. No guarantees though, I haven't been there.
EDIT: Oops, not enough posts to accept PMs. He said to try the Mobil station near the I-93 rotary.
