hm, what are you lowered on? and what size tires do you have front and rear?

these pics have me debating coilovers - I have 20x10 with 285/30s in the rear and 20x9 with 255/35 in the front .. I didn't think 1.5" would be enough, but these pics are pretty damn close to how low I want to be. I'd go maybe half an inch more on both sides.. but not sure that's worth pursuing

looks great!

More info on the suspension? Springs or coilovers? Did you need an adj panhard bar or Watts link after lowering?

I went with the Eibach Pro Kit, progressive rate springs. They claim their springs will give the GT a drop of 1.5" rear, and 1.0 up front. That's about what I got. I actually think I may have gotten a tad more in the front than 1.0".

I only did the springs. No shocks, no sway, no struts, no panhard bar, etc. only an alignment. The ride is definitely improved, less brake dive, less body roll, and not nearly as stiff as I was worried it might be. No regrets whatsoever. I'm very pleased. These springs are still settling some, so when it's all said and done I may be sitting a tad lower.

If I were you, I wouldn't drop your ride any lower than I did, unless you plan on going the whole nine yards i.e. suspension, adjustable panhard bar etc. If you do drop more than 1.5, you will also have to contend with increased scraping, bottoming out, and too stiff a ride for daily driving. Granted, they do look wicked when they are slammed.

I think this amount of drop is the perfect combination of performance, looks, and comfort.

As for wheels and tires,
Rear wheels 20X10
Rear tires 295/30/20 TOYO PROXUS
Front wheels 20X8.5
Front tires 255/35/20

Hope that helps. Feel free to ask anymore questions you might have.

Just Eiback Pro Kit Springs, and alignment. No adjustable panhard bar, camber bolts or other suspension/handling modifications.

Believe me, I had the same concerns as you. I did plenty of research, and had plenty of questions for the shop that did the work before letting them do it. They were confident that this amount of drop would not warrant the items you mentioned, as the specs would still be within factory parameters.

Now, maybe over extended time, under excessive hard driving or daily rough roads, the shocks may wear a tad faster than normal with lower springs, but we aren't going 4 wheeling in our Stangs.....I hope.

It's been a couple of weeks since I did the drop, and I'm really glad I did. I'd say there's easily a 15-20% improvement in handling, while still maintaining a level of comfort.

Speeding laws are the same as in CA, and you're not allowed to have anything on your tail lights that covers up the reflectors, so tail light tint is out of the window as well. Window wise, you can have up to 35% on the fronts, and limo on the back windows. No tint on the windshield without a prescription and even then, it can only be a UV tint. Most cops leave you alone for minor things, unless it's a motor cop, or unless you find one that's really bored.
