I think you guys are making a stink over nothing. I'm assuming that it's all a joke (SVT will be disbanded on APRIL FIRST 2006?) It's gotta be a practical joke. Under a month ago, the big midwest car show at the Quest Center in Omaha Nebraska came around and i talked with one of the SVT big wigs for about 30 minutes by the ford booth. SVT IS involved with the new Shleby's and are already working on 'the next big thing'. Also, they're working on a new car (I can't really remember the name... the Axcess maybe?) that is a sleek looking, powerful little AWD car that is reportedly going to get over 60 miles per gallon. SVT isnt going to die. If nothing, they're being re-born.

I don't know what Ford is thinking. They drop the SVTF in the middle of the multi-BILLION sport compact market.(Ford is now the only one without a "Hot"sport compact.) (Which, I am selling mine, since I ordered a new GT Mustang) They show the new Lightning w/500hp, then say no. They stop the Cobra, but with the return of 07 as a "Shelby 500". Hard to tell whats next!

Just read this article as well:

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...cleId=109512#0

I thought GM was the only Major Manufacturer without a clue. I guess Ford is just going to "bow out" and let Dodge run with their Stupid SRT line. I can't believe Ford would let Dodge take over the reins with that SRT 10 pick-up!

Damn I am upset but much happier I just ordered my GT 500. A couple guys on here said they'd wait til '08 and '09. Looks like the GT 500 might be a one year run car!

It is sad that Ford dropped the SVT line. Sad day for ALL SVT owners, not just Mustang.I really liked my 03 SVTF, but have now ordered a 06 Mustang GT. Ford is now the only manufacturer, without a "hot " compact car.

Thats false. The GT500 WILL be a 3 yr run. THATS A FACT. I think Karmanm is right. I say just sit back and enjoy youre car you have. If FOrd produces nothing worth buying.... just buy a used one. haha. Or do like the GM guys did and jump to another make ship.
