Camaro Concept.. Opinions.

RE: Camaro Concept.. Opinions.
I like it and hope they build it. If GM prices it close to a mustang then they will have a winner. If the price gets to close to the corvette, then I do not think it will sell well. I think the GTO suffers from some of that.
Take care,

I agree with the old versions as well. Don't really like the new concept. The Zeta platform ruuins the car IMO too and the release date on the camaro is 2008 so we'll see them on the lots end of next summer.

I like the way they look, but I think the new mustangs look better. The LS2 is an amazing engine, and the hp numbers are stout, but keep in mind it is planned to be built on the Zeta platform and will weigh ~4,000 lbs. I would rather wait until I can afford a car with an LS2 that doesn't weight two tons (i.e. the vette).

I just bought my uncles 75 Vette a few weeks ago and is all original numbers matching. Here it is:
Needs a little preventive maintenance done first before I get it on the road but all in all in excellent shape for the age.
OK, back to the subject......I DO NOT care for the new concept Camero at all. They might have put subtle little hints of retro into it but you have too look too close IMO to see them. Now the Challenger says retro all the way. You can see it the minute you look at it as well as the Mustang. Ford is going to be one step ahead of everyone on this. I think they might be wanting to wait for Ford to make the next body change to see if the competition is going to stay or fade away to a futuristic look.

I think the new camaro looks like a cadliac and the bow tie in the grill makes it look cheezy. The horsepower is impressive though but will the regular blue collar guy be able to afford it? The new mustang I think is the best looking affordable car with ***** I've ever seen but opinions are like ******** everyone has one.

I'm a Chevy guy from the late 60's. I had a number of Vettes, Chevelles, Camaros, and even a Vega. I now own an 05 Mustang GT as my toy. I think the new Camaro is also too futuristic looking. GM hasn't produced a really nice muscle car in a long time. The SSR was a flop, the GTO was another abortion, and I think the new Camaro will fall to the same demise also. The one thing that I see might kill all these cars again is these HorsePower Wars. In the early 70's not only emisisons killed these types of cars but also insurance rates for HighPerfomance Cars. I know when I was young I always wanted more go too, but now I hope this doesn't send this new generation into extinction because of insurance costs. Chevy should forget the Camaro and build an awesome Retro 67 Chevelle. I also don't think Chevy will compete price wise with the Mustang everything they make is for the Rich and Famous. May be thats why there in so much trouble.
