I'd love to have a new cobra. I could never afford one right now though.
It's sad to see that they might not put the shaker hood on the machs, if they reproduce some more. I think that was kick *** on the 03/04 models.

holy shiz if all that is true both the cobra and the mach 1 will be amazing in stock form. I love the 5.4! down with the 4.6 and up with the 5.4!!! there is no replacement for displacement

I like that ford is finnaly putting some a$$ in to their cars. but why couldn't this be done when the F-bodies were actully being sold. I mean really other than the 03 cobra we were getting beat down by the LS-1s

This is the thing that gets me
Why spend soo much money on a car thaqt only runs low 12s when (by the time these come out) you can buy an 00-04 and add a turbo and afew mods and run 11s. MDs car is a prime example. And I bet he doesnt have anywhere near as much invested in his car as they will want for one of these from the factory. Just my $.02.
Performance: The 5.4 S/C'd cars have been clocked in the very low 12's (12.10-12.25) in the quarter at nearly 120 mph and have been traction limited, according to "John". They are also supposedly able to pull over 1 G in handling.

a car that pulls over 1 G in handling and can run close to or in the high 11's stock for $45k-ish is a bad deal? Sure if all you want is straight line performance. For real-world driving and track fun I'd take the cobra over a drag prepped 00-04 anyday

I figured they would use the GT platform for the engine. If it has the same blower as the GT, it will be very boost-able. -Much more so than the 03-4's, and a lot more efficient with a screw. The 03-4 cobras had 275's all the way around; it will be nice to see them do the 'right thing' and go bigger in back. I bet we see 295's and I bet 315's never happen. This car will never pull 1.00 g on the skidpad. No way. Remember, the 03-4's pulled .88 on the skidpad. I'm not saying it isn't do-able, it will be do-able, just not stock. Should be a cool car. My personal feeling is that MOST of the stuff listed will come to pass.

the .88 I quoted for a Cobra skidpad was from Road and Track. My whole point was that with the factory rubber usually used, 1.0 on the skidpad will be nearly impossible w/o aftermarket tires. Cobas have always need some suspension help, and i'mk sure the 07 will be no different.
