Death to the Viper?

Death to the Viper?
That's the word on the streets! After 2011....no more Vipers! I have always wanted one but I guess with the tough gas regulations coming out it's hard to modify the beast.

RE: Death to the Viper?
I think they're making a mistake. That car has gained a huge following in the short time it's been around. They should keep making it but maybe cut back on production numbers.
That being said, I still think the Corvette is better than the Viper.

RE: Death to the Viper?
Old news. The Viper is doomed. It doesn't turn a profit, and it usually doesn't do so well against the competition. A shame, really. I'd still give my left nut for a new Snakeskin Green Roadster, though....

It's not supprising considering the new federal emissions standards that will be starting to kick in about that time. I'm wondering what those will do to the Mustangs!

RE: Death to the Viper?
It has alot less to do with the new emission standards than the simple fact that the Viper isn't a money maker. The Viper is sold in such small quantities (~350 or so last year I think?) that the new emission standards wouldn't affect Chrysler too much. The Viper is expensive to build, and Cerberus thinks they need that capital to turn around the company. If you read the article you would also see that the Viper isn't the only victim, but the Pacifica, Magnum, Crossfire, Convertible PT Cruiser, and I believe a couple others are also being cut.

RE: Death to the Viper?
The Viper is my all time favorite car. I have always wanted to have one when I was older. Personally I think it is one of the best looking supercars of today, especially for the price. Its so sad to see them go...
