Return of the 5.0?
I just saw this on stangnet and it's very short, but does anybody know if this is true? Has anybody heard about the 5.0 coming back to the engine lineup? Here is the link:

those numbers match up with some inside predictions on svtperformance from a few months ago. not sure where they got that info. probably the same thread that was going for a while on svtp...
theres also word on the street about the new 5.0 being mated to a tremecT6060 6-speed trans

I've seen this rumor now in several other places so I guess this is kind of old news, but I can't wait to see some official release on it. I'm curious to see if it's going to be a new engine or just modified from the 4.6.

I have heard it from countless people on other forums, who have heard it from other sources that they consider reliable. I cannot say exactly who or what website. I've also heard through the grapevine from some Ford employees over here in Dearborn. But that's all I can say, lol.

A stroked variant of the current 3V 4.6 would suffice for the GT, would not cost significantly more to produce, and could yield anywhere from 345-370 hp easy, depending on the tuning, CR, etc. Marry that with a car that still weighs under 3600 lbs like they do now, and you'd have one quick factory GT.
This "Coyote" DOHC 5.0 we keep hearing about sounds more like a candidate for the next Mach 1 or Boss to me. It'd be too expensive for the GT model, unless Ford is planning to let the GT price up over 30K along with the Camaro SS. Could hurt sales though, unless they make that TT V6 model a reality.
