1997 Mustang GT will this car with headers and exhaust do 140? This kid im friends with claims he got pulled over at 140MPH in a 45MPH zone. Come on now with out chip/tuner I DO NOT SEE 140 out of this car. Is this possible?!?

The kid is dumb for doing that first of all, secound most trackers are innaccurate over 120, they don't need to be able to read you faster because if you are doing that in any area, you have a high chance of losing your license right there, let alone in the 45. I wouldn't even do that unless you can go 170 for sure and are really quick, least that way you have hope of out running him
my 94 gt had a calibrated spedo, 3:73s, the spedo gear, headers, catback(still had cats) and a K&N drop in and it'd do a lil over 140.....5th gear though is like driving a honda waiting for it to get up to speed
^ that is what i was wondering. this reminds me of a story that a kid told me. he said he and his friend were doing 180mph(forgot the car) and were pulled over by a cop. now if you are doing 180 and go by a cop just keep going. he isn't going to catch you anytime soon and definitely didn't see the plates. sounds fishy but i think it may be possible for the car to do 140.
