I don't see how it is smart marketing when it pissed people off. Why didn't they just give it all to us last year? Ford has had this motor for quite a while. The 5.0 may not have been ready, but this motor was. If it pisses people off, then it is not smart marketing. They would have made more money if they did it last year. I see through their tactics, and it pisses me off that they would essentially say "the customer is too stupid to know whats going on, so lets drag this out and make a few extra bucks." This is the dark side of capitalism though. It is a system that requires producers' integrity, which there is none of. I still love the direction Ford is taking, but I will never agree with their decision to release drivetrains a year after body styles. It is just insulting.
True.

i wasnt happy about what they did but im gonna use this to my gain i planned on trading this in next year and i will but i hope there will be a very pissed off 2010 gt500 owner who trades in his car or the older will drop in price more u can have the high comp 5.0 (as much as i loved my old one) but i will gladly take a 500 horse 5.4 with a blower on it and use the extra cash saved to buy what was really missing from the car, a half decent suspension for all that power.

nah, Ford will 'incentivize' enough to push the remaining '10s out at great bargains, and there will certainly be ways to spin having this 'unique' combination of new body/interior with proven powertrain for only this model year. I know I purposely bought my '10 v6 because i WANT the proven reliability of this old dinosaur of engine/tranny combo. And i do expect this car to last me at least 150k miles assuming i don't wreck it before then, lol.

The only people who would get pissed off about this are people who just bought a 2010. And not even all of them will be pissed about it.
I'm not pissed with my '08... except that I have a car payment lol Which is why I plan on keeping this car for a very very long time.

I am to be honest and say that I'm more than a little pissed that this is essentially my dream v6 powered mustang I mean come on factory lsd, factory duals, factory 300+hp, factory 6=speed manual/auto trannys, better instrumentation, more sound deadening, better brakes, a more aggressive lower splitter, you'll have the glass roof option, a factory perf package*though I think that the performance package should have some type of HP/TQ bump to be a TRUE perf pack&that goes for both the gt's&sixxers jmo though* factory optional 19" wheels, better uca&sway bars, its just awesome to me and somehow they are going to keep the weight almost the same due to the new motor weighing less only thing I'm waiting to see is the PRICE? I would guess it's going to be $22,995 to start for a base no options stripper model which for comparison the sticker on my base no options 5=speed 2010 was $21,495! OWCH but still worth it for all you get in upgrades imo. Anyone know if the upgraded rear is a 8.8? Or did they go cheap and just slap a lsd in the anemic 7.5? I wouldn't think so due to the 3.7 making as much HP as the 05-09 gt's and within spitting distance of the 2010 gt's I also wonder does anyone know is the factory exhaust on the 3.7's a H or X pipe setup I would guess H since that's what ford puts on the gt's?
