Default Geiger Shelby

This was posted over on another forum.

ORIGINAL: Pony Forums

We don't know why Karl Geiger is fascinated with American performance cars, but we're sure glad he is. The 2010 Shelby GT500 is the latest muscle car to go under the German tuner's knife, and the results are nothing less than impressive. Thanks to a larger Whipple supercharger, larger throttle valves, upgraded fuel injection system and ported cylinder heads, the 5.4-liter V8 produces an incredible 799 horsepower and 697 pound-feet torque. Geiger claims a top speed of 220 miles per hour, but with the Mustang's aerodynamics we would peg that number as more theoretical than anything.

To cope with extra horsepower, Gieger has also fitted the GT500 with a three-disc carbon clutch and reinforced the six-speed transmission. Handling improvements have been made through a "racing chassis" (we're not sure what that means), a panhard rod with polyurethane bushings and adjustable lower control arms. Finally massive 15-inch, six-piston front brakes help haul the Shelby down from inevitable high speed runs. You can see the full press release after the jump, and high-res images courtesy of Gieger can be found in the gallery below.

Cool

is it just me or are those rear tires smaller than stock?

other than that it doesnt look too different and has normal engine upgrades that, for the most part, be had from the FRPP catalog. now the suspension mods are nice to have although im with the editor and have no clue what they mean by a race chassis.

If the set isn't staggered then it only has a 255 rear tire.

well i know the stock 285s dont hold traction too well so i dont see how 255s would be a plus especially with 250hp more. seems like a huge design flaw on geigers part

I should have been more specific on which set, but Mustang Boy is correct I was talking about the Geiger set.

Not to knock the company, but when it comes to mustangs you can do most of the work yourself OR there are planty of reputable shops that can give you the same results cheaper. Why go through them.......some do offer a warrenty but most don't.

Is that steering wheel stock? I love the alcantra inserts. Man 26 lbs of boost...lol I guess it won't run on the CA 91 octane. Nice car though.

Cool

ok i just realised this car was not put together with very much thought at all. i mean they didnt even put the TPMS sensors in the new wheels so the TPMS message is light up and on the dash. if you are going to spend that much money to modify a car atleast spend $50 for new valve stems for the new wheels so you can use the TPMS sensors so the car has a good finished product without warning messages and lights lit up on the dash
