To each his own... $100K for a car with a BB of $22K... not my thing, but I'm sure he's happy as a pig in S**t he can say he owns some Hollywood flare (afterall, that's why he bought the dang thing).

I live close to where it was being auctioned off and went by to see it one day. We talked with the owner of the shop for about 5-10 minutes about the car. He explained that the car was mainly used as the camera car, and they removed the supercharger due to the whine. It's a Saleen without a supercharger. The car is pretty sharp, and it certainly is a conversation piece. The owner wanted it sold to someone who would take care of it…the studio wanted it back for Transformers 3 and plans were to destroy it in the movie.

I had found it on Ebay and put it on my watch list. It was listed a few different times and subsequently relisted. Sometimes with a low starting price (with no buy-it-now) and others with a high (and buy it now) price. I’m not sure if it sold for the buy-it-now price in the link below, but I never saw it relisted after this.

Right! And considering a base no-packages GT500 starts at something under $50K, the guy could have bought TWO GT500's!
