5.0 versus 4.6
Way back at the beginning of the year 03, i remember talking to a dealer about an 05 stang since i was interested in it as a graduation car after i finish university. Anyways he mentioned that there was a chance that the 5.0L V-8 was going to make a come back in the 05 stang. When i read the new car and driver and found out that they went with the 4.6 but moddified, i was kinda dissapointed, anyone else here wish it was the 5.0L? does anyone know what the internal changes are to the 4.6 to make the now 300 hp figure ?

they probably upped the compression, put in different cams, devised a better flowing exhaust,there's a million little tricks that can up your hp by a few ponies.</P>

isn't the 06' cobra rumored to be an OHC (dohc?) 5.0L? i know it's not the pushrod 5.0, but at least it'll have the number maybe?<edited><editID>SpeedRicer</editID><editDate>38019.6973726852</editDate></edited>

<LABEL id=HbSession SessionId="1255228582">I've read on a few sites that in 06 the GT gets the old Cobra motor (335HP 302) and the cobra gets a 400+ DOHC supercharged 302. Have to see if Ford stays with that or backs off and stays with the 4.6. Would be a good time to up the HP since the Camaro comes back, the Vette gets redesigned and the Charger will be out in 06.</LABEL>
