The Gracie's could have easily kept the secrets of BJJ to themselve and kept on dominated the world of martial arts....but they didn't...they started teaching their secrets to everyone else....So instead of putting them down you should see them for what they are...PIONEERS OF THE MARTIAL ART's world......Bruce Lee once said back in the 70's....a average boxer with some good wrestling can beat any martial artist.............I hold the Gracies on the same level as the Legendary Bruce Lee.....They knew what it takes to be effective in the fight game.

Hey moron, they were touting that gracie would make a triumphant comeback and of course royce was talking ****. He got what he desreved. If you would like to refute that gracies usually fight were they can set the rules, like in their heyday, you go right ahead. This was nothing more than a gimmick for the UFC and i think it was hokey and un-needed. Many of the UFC fans probably dont even know who gracie was, if they werent on the reality show, they dont care. the point is, yes, he was king in the early days when the braz ju-jitz ruled, but now, he is a tired old dude who should have stayed in the teaching or coaching ranks. Do you really think he will comeback to the UFC? say what you want about hughes, when he wants to win ( i say that cause i was at his loss to BJ Penn and he looked disinterested as he got whupped) , noone can touch him.

Bitch....Royce was never the champion of the Gracie clan....Rickson is the undefeated champion with over 400 wins and no losses if Matt Hughes was so tough he can always challenge Rickson...I'm sure he wouldn't do any better than all the other's who've tried....Matt Hughes is nothing more than an overrated *******....When Royce was fighting, there was no weight limits...and for your information Rorion Gracies started the UFC.......He created it...get your facts straight....You were probably just a kid when Royce and the Gracies were kicking anybody *** who had the guts to get in the ring with one of them.

The only thing that's changed was this....The early UFC only had a hand full of rules...Now this UFC has a ton of rules...It's not really utlimate fighting......Hell you can't even kick a man when he's down....(No knees to the head)....Matt Hughes should be kissing the Gracies *** instead of making fun of them...He wouldn't be nothing without them.

Has anyone here, other than me, actually done MMA or wrestled at a high caliber?

If so, you understand that outsiders do the politicking - the fighters/wrestlers could give two ****s about who started what. The only thing that matters is that you beat the other persons *** and become the best possible athlete possible.

it was a good fight, im a huge matt hughes fan, ans yes i no basic bjj, im starting to learn some mui thai. of course royce was gonna talk ****, he had to promote the fight. what was he supposed to say, "um.. matt hughes is good, i dont no if i can win." he i s still a cocky mutherfucha but he accepted his loss. matt hughes is too dominant, fo ranyone. i can wait fo a bj penn rematch. and when he lost that fight, he had to drop 20lbs in a week to make weight. ever since then he makes sure hes only 10lbs over weight one week before weigh in.

That is not very hard at all, not to mention he is a heavy 185 when he isn't sucking weight.

hey handjob, nobody is doubting their past, past as in, what have you done lately? Joe Montana was a great qb but cant play the game anymore. Yes we all know that you were around this stuff long even before you were born and that you are the only true old school fan in existance

it is great that you have us watching old vids. Ali was great too but he was pummeled into retirement as well. we were talking about gracie fighting hughes week or so ago, which he had no business doing, that's all.
