Default RI: FS/Trade 79’ Jeep CJ-

I have a 79' Jeep CJ-5 in excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically.

I'd like to trade it for a Mustang 5.0L. Anything from the late 80s up is preferred. It doesn't need to be pristine, but does need to to be mechanically solid. Color doesn't matter (though expect point to be deducted if it's cotton candy pink). Automatic is ok, but manual is preferred. Can be totally stock or modified, as long as its a whole car (or can be made one with a little elbow grease and no additional investment).....

As far as the Jeep goes, here's the info.....
258 straight 6.
118.xxx miles, just had seals redone. Only oil drip comes from distributor shaft, which I'm going to try to fix this weekend.
4 speed manual tranny, very good clutch
4wd Hi & Lo, manual locking hubs
Full gauge package inside, all stock, all work.
2.5" Shackle lift, heavy duty leaf springs.
New steering shaft, steering box, battery, battery tray
BF Goodrich 31x10.5 tires, nearly 100% tread
Interior is sweet, new front seats, new carpet.
New soft top, soft doors, older bikini top, brand new half doors
Body is very good, with very little to no rust (blemishes are limited to a few bubbles and runs in the paint).

I have a lot of pictures of the jeep and can provide more details for anyone interested. In case anyone is curious, the reason I'm trying to trade is because I drive too much. The jeep is perfect for shorter commutes and around town, but I often drive over 500 miles in a weekend, and I don't want to kill the Jeep by mundane driving....I'd rather someone take it into the mud where it belongs.....

Oh and FYI, NADA Classic car guide values the jeep between 4200-6400 (mid to high book), so tale that into consideration when thinking trades (or if you want to buy it).

I'm located in RI and would prefer to stay within close by, say no farther than Northern Jersey, but all of New England is game.....

You can contact me by email at schettino@hotmail.com or by phone 401 316 1741

Thanks alot, Joe

Here's a pic.....Sorry its so small....If anyone wants more, I can email some full size good quality pics

Sorry its not an 8.....Truth be told, the 258 is way more reliable than the 304, but definitely not as powerful......

ah yeah! if I wasn't leaving for the Army in a couple months, I'd probably drop a 302 or 350 into it, but I don't have the time (or money) for something like that now.....

i figure a stang' would fit my needs right out of the box.....hopefully someone's going to be interested
