Default Motor problems

I have a 1993 LX 4-cylinder. There are times when I driving and the car just shuts off. All my power options are still available but the motor dies and I have to wait about 5 minutes for it to turn back on. I've recently put $1,000 into it to try and fix this problem, and the body is in too good of condition for me to just sell it. Any help would be great.

What have you done so far to try and fix it.. last time that happened it me, it was the module on the distributor that was going out.

Default Motor problems

Well, first a shop told me it was the fuel pump, so I had a new one put on and that didn't solve the problem. Then they told me it was my battery and my alternator. I replaced both of those and still no answer. Then they told me it was my ignition module, and that still hasn't solved the problem. But everything I've put on so far has been a new radiator, clutch, fuel pump, ignition module, alternator, and a battery. I've also been to alot of mechanics and they can't figure out the problem.

When you say ignition module do you mean the TFI? That is the module that is on the distributor.

BTW you might want to report this in the tech forums.

I replaced the DIS module located on the lower intake manifold. I'm planning to drop a motor in there but until I have the money saved up, this little 4 bangers gonna have to do, for now.

That's what I'd like to do, I'm working right now saving money for the new motor, but I need to get to work somehow, so I have to keep this thing running for now.
