Converted to the Dark Side - New Guy in TX
I've been a huge Chevy guy for a while, but I test drove a 06 Mustang GT at Carmax. I was holding out for a vette, but I decided the lack of a backseat wouldn't be fair to the young ones. I put my bias down, because Ford has built a great car with the S197. The motor isn't bad compared to the LS1, but the rest of the car is a lot better than I remember my old 00' TA ever being. It just rides a lot better on the road, and actually feels like a good ol' sports/muscle car. Oh and the sound, I'll admit the Mustang has always sounded better
I bought the one I test drove. Which is a 2006 Yellow Mustang GT 5 spd, with 10,800 miles on the odometer. Now I just have this long list of mods to do and research for the car. I believe the first two things on the list are a shifter(MGW) and give it a healthy sound (loudmouth). Then I need to do something about all this yellow. I really do like the yellow mustang look, but I feel like a little black here and there would help even the look out.
Edit: Oh yeah, and HI

Welcome to the forums 10random! I had a pair of 3rd gen Pontiac Firebird Formulas (91 + 92) before I decided to sell them both and jump into a new car. I checked out the charger and cts before the mustang, but once I test drove the car I fell in love with it. Grats on your car and man sounds like you could make a bad *** yellow jacket if you pick the right color schemes. Good luck!
