Default New Member with Questions about a 351W in my 66 Coupe :)

Hello All,

I have a shop here in AZ that's offering to work with me on a budget to get me a motor that's upgradeable for the future with my restoration project. I want to drop a 351W in my 66, and they are telling me they can do it for about 8K out the door. This includes sandblasting and repainting the engine bay, carb, manifold, headers, exhaust, etc. The setup would be totally turnkey ready.

The 351W is a remanufactured Ford Lightning Engine out of a 1993 Ford Lightning Truck. It comes directly from Ford with a 3 year 100K mile warranty.

My 2 questions are this:

1. Is this a solid engine to not only use now, but upgrade in the future if I want to stroke it for a very mean high powered beast in the future?

2. The owner of the shop has told me it should pump out about 360-400 HP with the Manifold/Carb/Headers with about 400 lb of torque. I'm assuming this is going to be a huge difference from my bare bones stock 2V 289 at 210 HP? Can anyone verify the power on this model engine?

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!!!!!
