2007 Mustang GT/CS - Turning into Road Racer in Australia
Hey guys & girls,
Just joined up as I have recently purchased a 2007 GT/CS to strip and convert into a road-racing car here in Australia.
The car has not yet left the shores of the US; still tracking down a whole bunch of parts to throw in a 20' container.
Will certainly be making good use of the forum's knowledge on S197 & 4.6 3V tech issues and parts sourcing/development.
Regards, Dave.

Well it all started back in late 2009 when I took 4 months to do a whirlwind tour of Europe and North America. I had been working for a Ford Racing & High Performance Parts distributor in Queensland when the economic crisis set in, and people stopped buying parts. I'd already been intrigued by the FR500 Mustangs and the success they were having against my lifelong brand, BMW, in Grand Am and FIA GT4.

My first major stop was at the Nurburgring in Germany, where i borrowed a VLN Production Spec E36 M3 3.0 (the hi-po Euro version) for a day to do some Tourist-fahrten laps. This thing was basically a street car with full cage, really nice coilovers, upgraded clutch and a very long diff ratio to hit 175mph on the straight, not that I ever got it going that quick. I managed an 8:45 Bridge-to-Gantry on my 7th lap, decided that was quick enough, threw the stop watch back in the trunk then took some English Ducati-riders for hot laps. They paid, so it worked out for both of us!
