Finally took the plunge
I am a big Ford fanatic, been that way for years...but I have always marched to the beat of a different "Blue Oval Drum"...LTD, Torino, Montego, Ranchero, Maverick...etc etc etc. But I have always resisted the charms of FoMoCo's most famous pony car, until now. I have just taken the pony car plunge and bought a well used 1993 Mustang LX convertible 2.3L with a 5 speed stick. White with red interior and a black convertible top.
Gonna need some work to correct some minor rust issues and will put a new top on it, but next summer is going to be fun in the drop top....for now, she is resting in my garage...I think I heard it give a sigh of relief as the door was closing, knowing I saved her from certain destruction from the kid that bought her a few months ago and was going to use it as a "winter rat".....really??

Cleaning the leaves and general crap that find its way in the mechanism for the power top. did some lubrication with silicone spray and top works a lot smoother. Jacked her up and looked the floor pans over closer. Overall in good shape, some minor rot at the toe boards, but the stock frame rails are sound and the stock stiffening bars/rocker rails are rock solid. Took her for a quick spin around the block with the top down....fun stuff. Back into the garage and just gonna sit on her til spring....
Originally had an automatic in it, but the kid who sold it to me claimed the automatic was junk so he had a 5 speed transplanted...did a decent job converting it, but I am thinking about returning it to the OE automatic setup....why? Why not...lol

Kids..... you don't take a automatic and make it a manual that's just not right. Really hurts the cars value later on down the road. Putting her back would really be the most logical course of action. Would not think it would be that hard to put it back, I would not think.
