Young Mustang Owner
Hello, I'm Dalton a 14 year old from Georgia I recently purchased a 1970 Mach 1 (not the version with good shaker) for 2,400, To drive when I get my learners permit in about 3 months. It has new paint rebuilt engine New hood, doors, floor pans, trunk pans, and battery apron. Also new interior including headliner, carpet, dash, seat covers, and door panels. Steering Pump has a small leak at the high pressure hose connection, and Brake warning light stays on unless switch is unplugged at distribution block.
I have one question Did I pay to much for my car?
Also any tips for a young mustang owner?

What if we told you that you did pay too much? Are you going to ask the seller to give you some of it back?
Someone will always get a better deal than you when it comes to cars. What matters is if you are comfortable with the price before you make the purchase.
Side note, I think that is a horrible car to learn to drive on. Young male drivers and sports cars are a horrible combination which is why auto insurance is not going to be cheap for you. I did plenty of crazy stuff when I was starting out and I probably would have gotten in some serious trouble if I had a sports car.

I appreciate your honesty and I know life is not fair and sometimes we don't always get what we want and I'm ok with what I paid for my car. Also what do you believe is the most I should have paid?
Thanks agian for your responce.

If you're OK with what you paid for the car, don't even think about it any more.
Just fix the little things that need fixing and enjoy the car.
When you do get your license, try to get into a "Street Survival" event; these are typically put on by local SCCA Regions or other car clubs. Otherwise, take in a couple of autocrosses. Either of those opportunities will help build up your car control skills. Chances are that they won't even get mentioned in your driver training classes, but what you can learn from them might well save your life later.

Welcome, and congrats on that Mustang. Sounds like most of the hard stuff was done already so I think you got a good deal. And that's a good car to learn on. It requires full attention to your surroundings at all times. Just remember we've all done stupid things when we were younger, and there's a reason we don't do those things anymore lol.
