Default New Memeber, gearing ratio questions!

Hello, I have a 2011 6-cyl automatic Mustang with the pony package. I am currently running 2.73 gears in my mustang, I want to go with a higher gear ratio but nothing too crazy as my car is used for Daily Driving. I was considering either 3.31 or 3.55 gears, but the problem is I want to keep the stock Pirelli P-Zero tires that came with the car. If I am upgrading to either 3.31 or 3.55 would I need to change my tire size or my tires overall?

Welcome to the forum.

No, you wouldn't have to change anything in the wheel department. And I'd go with the 3:55's.

Good luck

Thank you!! This question has been bothering me for a while because an American muscle rep kept telling me I had to change my tires in order to get the right traction I needed so I wouldn't slide all over the road, but I didn't want to have to spend $800+ on a set of 4 Micky Thompsons

If you keep your foot off of it, no worries. Even if you do tromp on it from time to time, the traction control will kick in and minimize your wheel spin. Sounds like someone there needed some commission for Christmas.

Wow he definitely needed that commission Lol Thank you though, i tend to never stomp on it off the line. but there are some occasions where I do stomp just to see how it feels, I always ride with my traction control on in the car, so I'm guessing I should be fine
