What gears do you have? On a stock S281, you could go with 3.77 gears, and that would help. Also, Saleens powerflash recalibration is a little conservative. With yours being n/a, you could run more timing and clean up the fuel curve quite a bit. This is accomplished with a new chip or a MAF tuner. Also, Saleen leaves the intake all stock, so you could use a cold air intake and pick up a few horses. I suggest this as your first mod.

Exhaust and lower intake should always be the first mods if you're on a "slow build budget" but if you can afford a lot at once I would say knock out the exhaust and forget about anyother mod and just get a KB twinscrew S/C and a 3.73/3.90 ring and pinion! Then a custum tune and life will be grand!

hey dude what up, I have the same car only a 2001, get a cold air intake, I noticed a difference right away, I had 3.73 gears in it up until a week ago. I put the 3.55 Saleen gears back in because i will be running some SERIOUS power in the spring. I say get it retuned and cold air, plus gears.

Very true... but with the twinscrew you will have instanb boost at 2000 rpm where with a centrifugal you will have to wait for the powerband to achieve full boost. I would go with either but if I had the money and the choice I would prefer the KB!!!!!
