Default Safe shot on a Mustang V8

I reccomend nothing more than a 100 shot on a stock 5.0L V8. But then, Im known to ramble on about things that I know nothing about. I mean, jeez, I dont even own a mustang for God's sake. DONT LISTEN TO ME IM AN IDIOT.

Not sure about a 4.6L, but it never hurts to call and ask them the reccomened maximum.<edited><editID>lloydchristmas</editID><editDate>37867.8040625</editDate></edited>

In MMFF this month i read they put a 150 on a 4.6 with a cold air intake. Said it worked great. Remember 150 is at the flywheel, you would see about an extra 100 horse at the wheels.

a Shot is only as safe as the life your engine has had.....I only havea 100K engine, but I've run that thing into the ground and if I put a 100 shot in it....it's going to stand for 100 foot shot, cause that's how far the pistons and rods are going to travel before hitting the ground.</P>

now, if it's a new one, stock 4.6 then 150 should be ok -check if they'll warrant it first. -- </P>

It all depends on how well the car was taken care of, regular oil changes etc... If you or the previous owner beat the hell out of it? If it was properly maintained then I would say go for it!

i just hit 108K, and right now i don't have the money for a new engine. my cars running good and i'd like to keep it that way, so i'm going to hold off and work towards something big. if i go to kuwait in jan, it'll happen when i get back, with all that extra $$, if not, when i pay off the car.
