boost but what PSI ?????
I want to put a supercharger on a 5.0. The engine wont be stock when it goes on but, the compresion ratio will be. I want to run the most PSI I can but not put my engine at risk.

What will be the optimum PSI on a 5.0 with stock compresion ratio???

What is the best low-maintenance supercharger???

I find that difficult to believe that someone could do that and the motor lasted for more than 1 full throttle run

I'm actually not sure what I want to do. I want more power so I need to do one of a few things. I can either lower the compression and run a super/turbo charger or I can just raise the compression. My question should have been, which is a better idea? I don't want to have to use jet fuel just premium. And no offense but, 17 PSI on stock engine, I think you missunderstood.

Geta DSS Super Pro Bullit long block 306, that will hold down lots and lots of boost. I plan on myself buying a DSS Super Pro Bullit with Canfield comp heads, anderson blower cam, and runing either a vortech or a intercooled procharger D1 or F1 blower. And ya a stock motor with 17 psi would prolly blow up the first time it met wide open throttle

well if planned right you could go with stock type flat tops( forged pistons) as I did..no problem as I run 15 psi... I have the dss short block a fairly larger crane roller o-ringed heads, pistons are fly cut, and most important a high $$ blow off valve if I decided to pull the vortech and go to something else I'm not stuck with low compression. but if your not going over 7-8 pounds I would go the flat top way...
