Chip Question

RE: Chip Question
for what year stang ? and what chip are you referring to ?
the older piggy back chips like ads and superchips did nothing but bump timing really.
new skool technology will though, but imo , unless you get it dyno tuned for the car don't bother, a generic chip will not do anything you can't tune at the track w/ air/fuel
the reason i say this is... on the dyno, they can see everyhting, then make it all right.
a generic chip will just make some basic changes and thats it

RE: Chip Question
Eric you can get a chip from SCT. They currently make the most advanced chip. You can then to go amazon or RWTD tuning and give them exact info and specs on your car and they can email you a "can tune" that will be close to what you'll need. With a stock 99 gt you can expect to pick-up 20-30hp fairly easily with a chip and 93 octane gas. If you have basic bolt ons like under-drive pulleys, exhaust, and intake you can expect to see a little more.
