Default Stock bypass valve question

i recently went to a smaller 10lb pulley on my 04 gt with a V2 vortech and was wondering if i needed to replace my stock bypass valve with a race one or change it to a blow off valve that can handle the boost... im not too sure but think that the stock bypass valve i have is only set up for up to 8lbs and again im running 10lbs....if i do change any suggestions on what type/brand?

thanks

you should be fine keeping the stock bypass valve on just 10psi. You shouldnt need a race valve until you either add an intercooler or drop down to a pulley smaller than 3.33

ok well my day didnt go as planned, it took me 2 hours to get to the dyno because i kept it under 2000rpm the whole way thinking i was running lean. So i finnaly get there and the car goes on the dyno,it turns out that my bypass valve is to small and he cant tune it and that was the reason my car would sputter, he told me that when the bov is to small it pushes air back towards the mass air sensor and then the mass air sensor jumps up in voltage and calls for more fuel.I was sputtering because i was getting to much fuel i could see it spitting out of the tailpipes. So anyway i went home and added a second bov, which i had lying around, which is the same as the other one and that problem stopped, but i still have to make another appt for the dyno.So i keep you posted and he also told me the stock bov is good to 10psi and i think im at 12psi so thats what my prob was.

yea you should get the vortech mini race "maxflow" valve. it will solve all those problems and make some cool noises too

Your stock bosch Bypass valve should not be the problem. I run the stock Bypass w/a 2.95 S/C pulley, AFM powerpipe and 15psi with 0 surge or problems. The stock Bypass is a very capable unit.
