OK, my wife has a 97gt (stock), automatic. I was wandering what kind of ECU mods are out there and what kind of performance increase is gained. Dont want to go to extreme as far as turbo or supercharger. May possible do header and exhaust. But main question is on HP gain from ECU change. Im a nissan man myself (94tt) which my ECU change gained about 60 more HP But she loves Mustangs and want a little more oomph out of it without major mods. She wants it to be like my Z as far as power and handling and I have tried to explain she cant get there cheaply. Let me know.

you dont really have many ecu options, unless you want to spend a couple bucks on a fast system, which correct me if im wrong, stands for fuel air spark technology, but that would be poinltess for a NA car like yours. ide just get a used blower man...youll spend just as much $ buying alot of stupid little parts

Ive been surfin the web and came to same conclusion. Headers, flowmasters and intake are the only easy mods Ive seen. Maybe she just has to live with it. I want it to be reliable and not sink 2 -5 grand in it for turbo or supercharger.

If your gonna go that route, make sure you get long tubes. Dont waste your time on shortys...and dont get flowmasters...they dont flow that well...ide say get some spintechs, most other people would say magnaflow. but they are both great mufflers, just dont get flowmasters!!</P><edited><editID>100th96cobra</editID><editDate>37998.8197453704</editDate></edited>

^Ignore moron. Flowmasters flow like crap....and that's the 1 chambers, imagine 2 or 3....

Dynomax, Ultraflow, Warlock, Magnaflow, Spintech.....all pretty good, with the spintech still outflowing the flows**tter and being teh worst on the list, lol.

Make SURE you get an X pipe....H's s**k ba**s.

on his stock engine their won't be much different which muffler he uses..you guys read to many mag....your engine stock will not even to be able to use all the long tube protenal..a good mac equal length headers,flow master 2 chamber and a good h-pipe is all you need as long as it's 2.5" as for as ecu a tweecer or a pms will help the car alot as will a gear changes a bigger maf and a 100 pound wt loss with some drag radial

You gotta think man.....I'm still an avid Saturn enthusiast.....I come from a world where hacking off your muffler can get you 6 FWH (however sound like ***) and any little thing can/will help.
