Default MagnaFlow product line overlap

MagnaFlow makes a 13000 series stainlessXL line and a 14000 series stainless Universal line that appear tohave the same high flow straight thru design. The only difference I see is the case construction. The XL being the rolled edge design and the Universal being the welded ends design. Can someone clarify why the two different lines?

I see significant changes other than welds & a rolled edge between the two lines.

Inlet/outlet positioning is different, muffler shape & size is different. Those large mufflers will have more packing around the tube that goes through the muffler & will help dampen the sound even more...

So you like the welded muffler much better??I noticed the XL even though stainless, onlycarries a 1 year warranty. I don't see any warranty claims on the universal line.Ialso noticed that the XL perforated tubing seems to make 2 rather sharp bends on the offset/offsetunit maybe creating a little restriction. However, it looks like it will outflow any deflector technology muffler and the price seems very fair. Anybody flow each to compare?

I haven't seen any flow comparisons between the Magnaflow mufflers aside from the Magnaflow catback for Mustangs & Magnapacks...

I would highly suggest www.google.com. Everytime I've needed information for here or personal research I've found helpfull sources there..
