Nitto NT01 Hot Pressure Suggestions?
I'm moving to Nitto NT01s size 275/40/18 this season and this is my first ime on R-comps.
was wondering what those of you who have track day experience on Nitto NT01 tires would suggest using as starting points for pressures when hot front and rear.
Thanks.

Wow Matt, really? That seems high I would have never even guessed that but Ive never been on them so I have no idea. I will be looking into these same tires for my next set of R-Comps for track days as well. Sleeper keep us posted on what you think of them and how they run.

38PSI hot is what I target as well. I start at 32 cold and then check them after each session. They are not like the A6 and the R6 that seem to love very low pressures.
Jason - if you are thinking about using the NT01 for AX, my opinion is they aren't so good. They take a bit of time to warm up and aren't as sticky on short AX runs as some others. But for track days....from my own experience as well as everything I've read, they are one the best HPDE tires going - a great blend of stickiness and longevity. The Nitto 555RII is also a favorite tire for the same reasons.

Brad- these would he track tires not AutoX tires. I ran into the same issues on my RA-1s, they took a while to heat up on a short run. So eventually I will have track wheels&tires and AutoX wheels&tires

Ya know I just saw Sleeper was asking about hot pressures..... I think when I saw that last night I missed it. So yeah 38 psi sounds like a good number.

Well....yeah! Can't I dream? lol
Phil- check out a movie by Eric Bana called "Love the Beast". Everyone that is a track/car lover should see this movie. It completely explains the mentality of the race car driver inside all of us, we are all sick in the head!

If money was no object you'd run A6s for both, they are the stickier tire. The top competitors running in T1 and ST1 use the A6s for sprint races. But for us joes they are too expensive and heat cycle out to quickly. Or better yet, run michelin slicks.
