Default New Shoes

AMR GT500 wheels and Michelin 255/45ZR18 Pilots.



A set of Eibach springs are on the way.

Seriously? If you have a white car, you've GOT to have black wheels!

OP, it'll look and go twice as well once it's lowered. How wide are the wheels?

(Not sure why this is in the handling section)

Agree, but not much can be done now.
Personally I think a machined wheel lip or white paint trim on the spokes would set it off, but maybe the lowering springs might help.

The wheels are 18x9 (front and back).

I don't personally care for the polished lip look. I used chrome locking lug nuts to contrast a little, and am seriously considering spinner caps. I'm gonna buy just one to see how it looks - I don't want it to be too "j.c. whitney".

If the spinner looks okay, I'll get a whole set.

The Pilot Sport AS. I was originally going to get P Zeros, but Discount Tire couldn't find any in the size I wanted, so the guy offered up the Michelins at the same price as the Pirellis (usually $20 more expensive than the Pirellis).

The ride is MUCH better than the Michelins that came on the car stock (235x65x17 Energy Saver AS), and the ride has improved markedly over the stock tires. Handling has improved marginally (better grip, larger contact patch).

I highly recommend the Michelins (and the wheels REALLY look good).

On my way home from Discount Tire, a guy in another Mustang pulled up along side at a light, and almost rear-ended the car in front of him. He was staring at the wheels. We had a brief conference at the light and he said he was gonna go to the AM site and order a set of wheels (at $139 each, it's a GREAT deal).

Now all I need is some of the red caliper covers.
