Brakes sucks Ford GT 2005!

"Streetable" lower-level XP track pads, Centric rotors, and Motul RBF600 brake fluid is all I've done to the brakes on my '08 GT, and I'm outbraking most of the other cars that show up in my (intermediate) run groups at various road course track days without much pedal effort required, and I do drive with them on the street.

Hi Norm,
Which brake pads are you using? I'm on EBC redstuff but need something with a bit more fade resistance that's still streetable. I don't mind the noise or dust

XP10's at the moment, up from XP8's that weren't quite enough on the track even though they never faded. The 10's do need to have a little more heat in them, though, and this is something you'd notice more on the street.

XP10's all around? I see some people choose different compounds for the rear. I've been eyeing the XP10's for a while. My car already makes all sorts of noises so one more squeal won't deter me, plus it's so goddam hot out here all year long that getting things hot isn't as much of a problem as keeping them cool.

I'd previously had XP8's all around but was beginning to think I was crowding their limits a bit too closely. Initially I was going to put XP10's up front and leave the rear XP8's in place a little longer.
Until I saw that all 8 pads looked like this ↓↓↓ even though they were less than 50% worn to a 1/8" discard thickness.
I may eventually move up to XP12/XP10, but I'm a bit cautious about splitting the pad compounds. I really don't want to be continually swapping pads between track and street duty - I'm retired so the car doesn't have to see all that much street driving any more - and I've been through a Hawk combination (HP+/HPS) that caused some unexpected ABS activity on the street.
