Default Is there any REAL benefit to 14" rear rotors?

I'm doing a brake upgrade over the winter (S550 calipers with 14" front rotors) and going to 19" wheels.

I found a guy that machines adapters for the rear calipers to run 14" rear GT500 rotors without removing the axles.

So I guess my question is, how much of a benefit is there to the larger rear rotors to justify the extra $200-ish I'd be looking at to do the swap, besides filling out the wheels a little better?

Probably not much, if any, IMHO.

Front does most of your braking.

I wouldn't waste the money.

Unless you are tracking the car, the stock GT brake hardware both front and rear are adequate. You won't see any benefit upgrading brake hardware on a street car outside of maybe a firmer pedal.

It'd probably let you run a less aggressive rear pad than you otherwise would because of the greater mean radius from axle center to pad center. Might force you to . . .
