My 2010 GT premium is making way for a silver 2011 GT500 w/SVT that is due in next Monday. I live in a state that mandates a front license plate (TX). I know there was a thread awhile ago on this for the GT. I was pulled over 3 times when my '10 GT was new for no front plate, the last time I was given a warning ticket.

1. Are there a pictures with a front license plate on a 2011 GT500?
2. Are there aftermarket license plate option that don't screw up the looks.

There are retractable ones for 05-09 not sure about 10-11

I live in Texas as well...and won't put a front plate on this car. I just won't. It ruins the car's bumper by having to drill holes, and it ruins the look of the car since there was no plate designed into the car for the front (like there is in the rear).

I've been lucky in that most of the cops where I live also drive stang's. Helps I guess in terms of them being in the know.

yes, there is a plate that you dont have to screw anything into the bumper. problem is i forgot where they sell it. i'll look it up and let you know

My 08 had a plate mounting assembly that came from Ford...mounts in front of the intercooler...not the best place but no holes are needed...

Theres a google search for retractable plates. My buddy has one on his new SS and it works well.

It fits my 2010. An added advantage to this unit is that it also gives a bit of protection to the low front splitter against curbs when parking. When exiting the somewhat steep Harrah's parking garage ramp in Missouri last summer (very slowly) it saved my splitter from contacting the pavement. The cheap plastic cover I bought at Autozone did get cracked but I replaced it by cutting a 3/8" piece of Lexan to fit. It is absolutely bulletproof now!
