Default Daily Driver?

so next year im graduating and my car will be going to my lil brother and my dad said he may buy me a 5.0 .. however i was thinking with the new '13 shelby coming out we may be able to find a good price on a 08 500. but the car would be a daily driver so if i did get the 500 would you recommend dd? or buy a beater for the harsher winter days

So now it's Ferrari vs. Shelby vs. 5.0?

Does Oklahoma have harsh winter days? I think you'd be able to DD it just fine.

Ferrari wouldn't be a dd... And it would only be of I got a 36... And winters usually are about 30 degrees or so with snow everyonce in a while... But this year it's been 50s and 60s

With a good set of winter tires and some disciplined driving you will be alright in a Shelby in the winter.

Winter tires or not I'm not sure you will want to drive it in the snow. I say have a second vehicle for those harsh winter days. And lets not forget the factory rubber is rated for 40 degrees and above.

Yeah, I'm inclined to agree with you guys/gals, so I'm going to modify my earlier opinion on the subject. Shelby and snow probably don't mix well.

But clear roads and a grippy set of Blizzak tires and thoughtful throttle control, will work.

Imagining what it would have been like to drive my previous GT500 in the snow, I probably wouldn't recommend it....but like with any car now-a-days, with any kind of higher horse power, with the right tires & disciplined driving, I'm sure it can be done...

Good luck on your decision!
